I'm joining u sitting in Mount airy Nc since early this am. I can't reload till Monday in Bristol 90 miles away. I have sat at least 2 days for backhaul every load for the last 7 weeks.

I need a truthful answer from you drivers at poly.
I've already been approved to work there.
Supposed to start in 2 weeks.
Can't make up my mind if its worth it.
My current job:
.40 cpm hub miles, plus 40 dollars a day per-diem.
50 dollars per stop, all stops paid including
First and last.
2014 and 2015 volvo's all automatic, 75 mph.
Ez pass and pre pass
Can run any and all toll roads,no questions asked.
Paper or e-logs,it's up to the driver.
No qualcomm, routing up to the driver.
Trucks leased from Penske.
Fuel at Penske, saves them 80 cents per gallon.
Shower anywhere,company pays for it.
All repairs and breakdown Penske takes care of.
Truck washes are free,Penske has their own.
Com data fuel card if you want to or have to fuel
At a truck stop.
100 dollar a month fuel bonus is you buy 75 percent
Of your fuel at Penske.
Penske fuels the truck for you, cleans windshield,
Checks all fluids and lights and tires every time you fuel.
( it is thier equipment)
Breakdown,driver gets a motel room,
75 dollar layover.
I've never received either one of these,we don't sit
And I never been in the shop for than 3 hours at Penske.
Pay every 2 weeks.
Take a picture of signed BOL and e-mail it
To office to get paid.
Bring home 2200 to 2800 every 2 weeks like clock work.
What they don't have:
No 401k
No apu units.
You can idle the trucks all day nobody will say a word.
If you have a power inverter Penske will put it in for you.
You don't get to pick your loads.
1 week off in a month
My question is can I make this type of money at poly.
What else can poly give me that I don't have here.
Thanks -
In my opinion, you are better off where you are both in regards to pay and equipment...in fact, is your company hiring out of north FL?...with the exception of an automatic transmission, I would think about moving over there.Last edited: Jul 11, 2015

I have a close friend who works for poly who
Keeps trying to get me to come over there.
But his checks are always smaller and he spends a lot of
Time at the shop in Grand Prairie.
I thought I would ask some other drivers that work there,
See if they would tell me something different.
I work for a small company out of Dallas.
About 30 trucks.
1 safety guy
2 dispatchers
2 people who do all the paperwork.
They work from 6 am to 6 pm mon thru Friday.
Your on your own the rest of the time unless
You have a emergency.
Everything is done thru e-mail or text message.
Haven't been on the phone for more than 30 minutes
In the last month.
They e-mail the driver the load info that's it.
Driver does everything else. No holding hands here.
Well expierenced drivers only.
They are hiring. You'll have to ask them about Florida.
I don't think that matters. Penske is everywhere.
They can get a truck from any Penske location.
Send me a pm I'll give you thier number.
I'm not willing to share this little gem with everybody.
No beginners here,we're going to tight 1 dock operations
(Some don't have a dock). It takes longer to back in then
It does for them to unload you.
Dry van,all on pallets. -
I got this job from a trucker lady friend.
I never heard of this place before.
She about 5 ft 2 inches tall, 55 years old.
Said she made 81,000 last year.
You know i didn't believe that ####.
I can tell you that on my first check I had 1 load.
It was 1400 miles with 5 stops. Took me 3 days.
I grossed almost a thousand. Brung home 750 bucks.
I believed her after that. -
