Put a chalk behind the drive wheels pressure against it where you're about to climb on it now put a chalk in front of the drive wheels kick it against the tire and release the brakes. Trailer and truck (That way nobody can kick your chalks out) and see if that works.

If that doesn't work find something heavy enough to to bring the Rpms up just a little bit and keep it there.

Use to drive a Volvo that had idle shut off. So I would use my tie down bar push on the throttle just where it would keep a nice idle and do what I had to do. This was with the brakes applied too.

The idle management is based on the outside temperature. . The sensor is usuallu on the bottom of the drivers mirror.. it is a tiny nub... so, there are a few tricks to make it sense a warmer or colder temperature... you can hold a lighter under it to warm it up, or use a hand mirror, water bottle or magnifyer to reflect more sun light on it.. to cool it off just use Ice...

Are you kidding me? They put this garbage on the Kenworth now? The Cascadias that had this issue were a nightmare.

The problem is that the settings take into account more than just the temp. They use the idle time as well. If you look on the qualcom under performance, youll see it will cut out at a certain idle percentage. Which is insanity, because if its boiling hot outside its boiling hot. The idle time is irrelevant.

I'm in my first KW T680--it won't idle above 22 centigrade although the temp guage reads 29 right now. It's a beaut of a truck but the no idle thing is a downer. To be fair, there is a back of the cab ac....it just doesn't cool the entire cab; it looks like some insulated window coverings are in order(they worked great on my old Volvo.

On the FL'S.. You hit cruise. Then resume. That steps the idle up to 800 and bypasses the shutoff. Google your truck to see if it has something like that or possible some other method.

i had to get hand warmers, located the two ambient air temp sensors, put a hand warmer around the sensor and secured it with electrical tape, wrapped a bandana around it, stuck it inside a ski glove, then tied a plastic bag around the glove to keep moisture out. pain in the butt, but she would idle all night long.

one temp sensor up front by the radiator on psgr side, the other was on the driver side rear chassis by the drives on the inside of the frame. This was for a Freightliner Cascadia, 2013.

    screw their anti-idle bs.

On my 2015 t660 pull the fuse box cover by the clutch 4th row up close to the right side is a yellow 5 amp labelled CECU something or other. It makes all the gauges on the dash shut down but the truck will idle to no end.

The guy in the garage told me to push in my parking brake and leave the trailer brake out (stay in neutral) and sure enough that works. I'm surprised I'm not rolling, but I'll definitely use the technique from here on out. Might get two chalks (one in front of wheel, one behind) in case. I have a KW T680.
