One of their agents berated a buddy of mine for a marginal rate quote $3.30 a mile. On some freight that at one time was paying a lot better before they were ever on the scene. Asks if my buddy did lots of business with them, nope, but some of our guys do.. he looks and says yep, you do, well you won't if you quote rediculous rates like that (in threatening tones). Really has us quaking in our boots. As if Coyote is the only game in town. Fine bro, now go find another truck, hahaha! Really gets old these rookie agents getting their panties in a wad over a rate quote. Don't like an offer then move along sonny boy and act like you've done this before....

Coyote calls me all the time with ridiculous crap in the Chicago area. The girl who always calls me actually thinks if it pays $2.00 a mile it is a great rate even if it goes 75 miles. I have only done one load for them ever and it paid $750 on 175 miles which wasn't that great but it don't put me in the category of being a cheap idiot they can count on to screw over.

Don't really care. Since having to claim on their bond to collect my last invoice, their credit is no good and we no longer take their calls.spectacle13, HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, truckon and 4 others Thank this. -
Yup those $750 on 175 miles ( $4.28 / mile ) loads are not that great
D32, GFBTrucking and mp4694330 Thank this. -

They've been ok to me, but I get annoyed when they try to dispatch me on cheap freight for the next week after I haul 1 load for them.
D32 Thanks this. -
Don't forget the non stop phone calls asking where are you at and are you ok for delivery at all hours of the day

I started with Coyote a couple years ago and did great until this year. I know freight is down and there are a lot more trucks chasing freight but the rates they have offered the last 6 months are ridiculous. They are making CH Robinson look like big spenders. I was having an issue with getting paid in 30 days (they'd mail the check on day 30 so it was 35 days or so) but that has been fixed. I have hauled 2 loads this July vs probably 15 last July for them. I guess they went and found a bunch of cheap truckers to haul, their stuff.
D32 Thanks this. -
Fuel cost at 6.5 mpg are .14 less per mile than this time last year. It should be calculated whe rating loads if you are doing year to year comps.
