a company can go thru all your personal belongings, that is usually spelled out in orientation and the driver signs that piece of paper.

intrinsic in that he did not pay for them, and it was NOT actual money that someone seized, which brought me to say to the other driver, gimme a break, it IS NOT larceny.

Well.. the take away from this thread is it really is important for drivers to know their rights and to know what a company can and cant do if you are being fired...

to the OP... I hope your mother and father are doing well... I, as with many other drivers as well, have had to deal with a family memebers illness... it can be one of the most stressful and difficult times in trucking trying to balance home life and responsibilities with your job life and responsibilities... in trucking we cant always be there when a family member falls ill...

as for the last incident. With your radiator and over sleeping.. that is not an excuse... having reliable transportation to get to work on time is a pretty basic responsibility... even if one has to call a cab...

I did home daily line haul.. and it sucks when the driver on the other end doesnt show up and I am stuck waiting then told to bobtail home... make less money bobtail... so, that driver not showing up causes problems for others

    White copy to the company.

Yellow is for the drivers records.

I can't believe that you allowed the guy to get away with grabbing your logs......he should have been missing some fingers. The yellow copies are what you need for tax records. (meal deductions). They can also prove where you where if you are confronted later on about your truck being in a accident.
