WAS APROACNED BY THE OWNER AT A COMPANY IN RAINBOW CITY ALABAMA, ,NUHOT INC.OFFERED A OUTSTANDING PAY AND EQUIPMENT PACKAGE TO COME OVER AND HELP THEM SET UP A FLATBED DIVISION,, SO MYSELF AND A FRIEND LEFT OUR CURRENT JOBS AND WENT TO WORK FOR ( JOHN PENNINGTON )THE OWNER.,, SET UP THE FLATBEDS ,, WAS TOLD A LOT ABOUT HOW MILLIONS WAS INVESTED AND THE JOB WASN'T GOING ANY WHERE BUT UP,, AND IF SOMTHING DID CHANGE THAT THEY ALSO HAD A DRYVAN DIVISION WE WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF....WELL THAT WAS A LOT OF BS,,,, FOR AS OF TUESDAY WHEN THEY ROUTED US BOLTH INTO THE TERMINAL FOR OUR 3 MONTH REVIEW AND TO RECIEVE OUR HEALTHCARE INFO WE WERE INFORMED TO GO OUTSIDE AND CLEAN OUT OUR TRUCKS THAT OUR JOB AND EMPLOYMENT NO LONGER EXISTED... THE ONLY THING THEY HAD TO SAY WAS SORRY BUT THE BOSS TOLD THEM TO LET US GO,, AND CONVIENTLY JOHN WAS OUT OF TOWN AND UNAVILABLE,,, SO WE GOT NO NOTICE, NO REASON WHY , AND NO COMPENSATION EXCEPT THEY GOT US A RENTAL CAR TO HEAD HOME,, OH YEA THEY DID SAY THAT WE DID A OUTSTANDING JOB AND THEY WOULD GIVE US A GOOD REFERAL ....SO AS A CONCLUSION I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST STAYING AWAY FROM (( NU HOT INC. )) AND AS FOR JOHN , WHAT COMES ARROUND GOES ARROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY ARE YOU YELLING?!? Sounds like they asked you to help them with a new venture...the new venture failed...and they no longer require your services. Happens all the time.
I DO think it was chicken crap that the guy who extended the invitation, did not have the nads to 'retract' his invitation post failure.
They DID pay your way home, thank you for your service, and extend gratitude in the form of a good referral. But they could have let you know they were failing, and you should start looking at other options two weeks in advance...but they didn't and that can't be changed.

I work for Nu Hot, and remember there are three sides to every story, I will tell you where it came from from a business standpoint. Our OTR flatbed trucks were consolidated to a flatbed dedicated account out of Alabama, the guys we terminated lived outside of AL, and would have not worked for this account. So Nu Hot made a decision to terminate our ALL of ourOTR and put the trucks on dedicated, which was consistent, no brokerage, and was able to pay the bills. These drivers were great drivers here on our fleet, they made great money, and we wouldnt have let them go, but no driver is going to give up .55 CPM flatbed to drive a .40 CPM dry van. It was nothing against them, just a business decision.

Ok...so (If the OP was being truthful) if the plan was to get rid of the drivers that did not live in Alabama...why could'nt the boss at the very least give the drivers a "heads up" on the crap canning, and give them a couple weeks to look for other employment?

The right thing to do with a good, dependable driver(s) would have been to give them a heads up and offer the other position, good hands are getting harder and harder to find....If they turned it down, fine, but that's what a real man would have done....I'm sorry but there's way too much underhanded crap going on out here today....Where have all the real men gone?....Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm living in the past, but I remember how things once were out here....
