Here is a part I copied and pasted here just to show that It isnt soley Bush's
fault for our fuel prices-so many people like to blame him.......
"On Wednesday, U.S. President George Bush asked Congress to permit drilling for oil in deep water off the U.S. coast to combat rising oil prices.

He also renewed his demand that Congress allow oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, clear the way for more refineries and encourage efforts to recover oil from shale in areas like the Green River Basin, which encompasses parts of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.
"In the short run, the American economy will continue to rely largely on oil, and that means we need to increase supply here at home," Bush said in a Rose Garden statement. "

"If customers need it" give me a break. This after hundreds if not thousands of small businesses have gone under because of the price of fuel.

Apparently some in the OPEC world are worried that their largest customer has reached their breaking point on price.

The problem now is that they know were the breaking point is, I'm sure they will do all they can to keep it very close.

What's sad is if we drilled off our cost, 10yrs ago we wold not be in this situation in the first place.. You noticed haven't you that China, Canada, and Hugo can drill of our cost, but we can't.

Thats what I'm afraid of. In a few months or a yr they'll test the upper limit again after folks get used to this price.

Could be interesting. There are some stations where I live that are debating about taking cash only. There are a great many of the people that have been using plastic to pay for the gas.

    Want to be really depressed?

What if in 1981 they never started the ban in the first place?

We would not have the importing we now face.

Maybe, and maybe not. Greed, and the other developing nations may say "so what". Hopefully not.

I think it would be alot easier to get used to the gas prices if there where more job oppurtunities out there, either that or a crappy wage ,but instead its like a double whammy to people!! :biggrin_25513:
