There's good leases and there are bad leases and there are drivers who don't have a clue on how to run a business.

So ... just quit the nonsense of providing a forum where "L/Os" can discuss the business of leasing.

The forum admins are obviously against it ... just shut this sub forum down and ban anyone who want to discuss leasing ... well other than bashing.

It's not a hate thread. It's the truth. Why would a company create their own competition? That's all you need to ask yourself right there.

The one and only instance I have seen where the L/O's got a good deal was when a small fleet owner got tired of paying off the DOT every audit season, sold the trucks to the drivers, and became just a broker!
I have seen many large companies that do business just like they were a rent to own furniture store. They don’t expect the trucks to ever belong to the drivers, they don’t own the trucks, they don’t own the terminal, and likely don’t own the office furniture!
Either way the forum serves its purpose, but don’t expect someone who has had there dreams shattered to come back and admit they screwed up!

    Yes....but NO!
Carriers don't create competition within their own household. What they do is remove all liability and cost to operate and maintain said equipment and place it square on the shoulders (and check book) of anyone who wishes to "rent" their equipment. No overhead, little risk = pure profit!

EXACTLY! That's what I meant by "creating their own competition". They really aren't. They've found a legal way not to pay a driver.
