I've heard about it and I think I will. As of now I'm sticking to PFJ to maximize the discount and to keep things simple till I get into a groove.

NASTC rules the NorthEast for discount for sure...

I beat Schneider's discount by 40+ cents per gallon every time I fill up...

Getting the NASTC fuel card is the best thing I have ever done...

    Roll on...

Like I said UNLESS THIS CHANGED. When DEF started popping up, we were told not to use fuel card for it. I checked on it a couple times and was told it wasn't fixed and didn't know when it would be. So, glad to hear they finally got that fixed. Personally, I prefer to pay out of pocket for personal reasons if you catch my drift.

Well. Pretty much got this first trip out of the way. Don't have to deliver till Tuesday which is fine...I have plenty of busy work tomorrow.

As I said before this wasn't an ideal load as I just wanted to get to Texas and get a feel for what the board looks like running regional before I go home for a day or two next weekend.

    1. It was heavy...I grossed 78K with full tanks.

    2. It was the I81 corridor through Virgina to I 40 which meant there were a few hills to pull.

    3. It has an extra day on it.

That being said...It gave me a nice long haul with the new truck to break it in and run different speeds. Today I ran a little faster than I normally would at that weight. And despite all that i got 7.2MPG for the trip...loaded weight....this excites me because I would have struggled to get 6 with the old truck....well with he speed I ran today I definitely wouldn't have got 6, plus running Texas will be much flatter.

So doing the math I should save about.....carry the 1....ALMOST 3 MILLION DOLLARS IN FUEL!!!

I probably made a mistake in the math somewhere but so far so good.
