    It's Schneider being dummies with trailers more so than being a shortage I think.
    As an example no joke a customer in Buffalo made up fake loads so Schneider would send driver to get the many MTs off their lot that's been sitting there forever. I got a VNU from that BS.

    i never understand a company not having a tracker on all the trailers. not knowing where all the trailers are is just stupid
    as screwed up as transam was they knew where every trailer was
    except for the time they called and asked me why i left my trailer at the ts and i said it was right behind me o_O

    Schneider does have trackers on their trailers but they're too lazy to use them.

    We do have a trailer tracking system in place. Upgraded existing to s better 2nd gen system. Office software is lacking plus its reliant on qcomm. Far from real time info.

    Sni has trailer tacks.

    When they spent 50 million on it they then realized the software did work with the old qualcomm

    Then they get software fixed only to realize the batteries in the trailer were only good for about 60 minutes after the truck disconnected.

    So they add solar panels but also change computer platform from qualcomm to mcp 200. Of course now the trailer system software doesn't match upto the mcp 200.

    Besides some customers won't release mt's especially on the weekends.

    Last I was told SNI has more than 48 thousand trailers.

    maybe transam worked off reefer batteries
    and of course they only had 10% of SNI trailers
    but in my lil brain that would make it more important to know where everything is

    The new VP operation manager for Dry/Refeer is changing this. When I talked to him a few weeks back he said he recognizes the trl are being out serviced faster then they are put in service so he is authing more to be in serviced quicker. He has SLC yard pumping them out like mad right now for both refeer and dry.

    We will see what happens over here. Frankly, I feel most bigish company's have issues with tlrs. Not just SNI or Knight.

    well transam had no trailer issues i dont know if 4500 trailers qualifies them as big or not
    but whatever technology works on 4500 must be good enough for 45000
    poor management that doesnt take into consideration software
    changing parameters
    sounds like the federal goverment maybe the executives are retired goverment employees

    Wow. I'm impressed ! .... less than a week there and they've decided to sell off the fleet. At this rate, you should have the demise wrapped up in what ? 90 days ? 100 tops, right ? :biggrin_25524: .... Schneeder actually ain't a bad place, but we did hafta get ya' some Demolishin' experience some where. Next time it's someplace that really deserves it, like Swuft, Pryme, or Transcam !
