I avoided companies with a recruiter, Problem solved.
If a trucking company requires dozens of traveling / desk jockey craigslist recruiters, Major Malfunction and avoid like the Super Ebola HIV.

The best companies to work for (with some exception) absolutely do not have recruiters. Why? They don't need them. What they do have is HR staff that will screen applicants and oftentimes conduct an initial one on one interview before passing the applicant along to the hiring manager who will also conduct an interview. Ya know, like a real company would do in any line of work.......

If I have to deal with a recruiter to get hired, then I am looking at the wrong company.

Even for new drivers there is no reason to ever have to deal with a recruiter. Unfortunately most new drivers are too lazy to do the work necessary to find companies that will hire new drivers that do not have recruiters.

some companies (and i have been through this) have a 3rd party hiring service to do all the paper work on an applicant and then send them to the hiring company. these are NOT recruiters however, only a "hiring service" as i would know it to be.

and this is from a temp agency that specializes in truck driving jobs. i have been through this at least twice in my time. but i call it a hiring service.

Yes. That's what WE are here for, to help people filter through the crap.:)

No, you can never expect anything resembling truth from a recruiter. A recruiter's job is to get people in the door, with promises of weekly vacations to Shangri-la if necessary.

I would even dare say that companies that even have recruiters in the payroll should be considered at the VERY least, suspect.

No. HR personnel will not talk to you as you are not yet an employee.

You would think that, but like used-car salesmen, embellishment if not outright B/S has to be a recruiter's M/O, or they themselves won't be employed very long.
