The Knoxville scales are in Knox. county & Haywood county is the famous Brownsville scales. I live in Tn. & run 40 regularly.

I was typing off memory, which apparently didn't serve me too well. The inspection form, now that I am holding it in my hand again, states 'Cumberland, TN' as the inspection station.

I go that way every few weeks ld out of a stoneyard in Crossville or Crab Orchard. I hate both them places always some weird mix of this and that takes forever to get close to being secure. LOL

I hauled a couple loads out of a place in Crossville for a guy several years ago. A real pita to get in & out of,they loaded their junk pallets too heavy instead of using more pallets & loading them lighter so everything would ride good, they would fall apart & it was a pain. Then he wanted to gripe about the freight,so I told to stick it,it wasn't worth the headaches.

Yes indeed. The road service I found was out of Crossville J & K or J & D, I believe. They were courteous, prompt, and I didn't feel like I had been bent over once they gave me a total. It was one of the pull-off stations. I've run through there many times and only seen it open twice.

For me it was 1000-1200 (same as the 90's) a week as a contract driver (not a 1099 driver). Idawhore has opened up a lot of state sales, and they get clear cut, for an added fee the logger can haul of some old growth too! A lot of the loggers around here spend all day wiggling a joy stick around and probably dont know how to sharpen a saw. With two bad apples running around in DOT suits, they cant keep decent drivers either. For some reason most of the decent drivers dont want those two peckerheads following them around every day!
O/O's are pretty rare these days, most of the highly productive crews run there own trucks too.
Still some hi-leed operations around, so there are still a few guys with calysed hands. Used to walk into a local store with dirty hands and folks had some respect for a working man, these days its all about how much you gained personally, and how little you worked!
