I have a friend that brings home 900 a week working every weekend, so no regional drivers tend to average about 7:50 a week, and they do not do a hair follicle test

My class was really good we lost none but they loose some from most classes. If you can back that spread axle you won't have a problem. It is good training it will take your skill to another level.

    CT...AN HONEST LOOK!
I've read all the glowing reports from new hires. How about something from an "old hire"? I was employed there for quite a few years and I left on my own accord. The pay is low. It may be great if you're just starting out but as has been said in other places the time you spend on the job versus your compensation will equate to $9-$11 per hour. You can do better in other industries. When I was there the medical insurance was horrendous in price and poor in coverage and every year without fail, Comcar, the parent company would blame everything and everybody. I knew people who had the same coverage from the same insurance company and they paid much less! Why was it so high with CT/Comcar? How about them "padding" the price for a profit? Any company which guarantees you being home on weekends should be a red flag because it tells you their customer base is low. Most of the time I had no problems or mistreatment from the dispatch staff in Savannah. However, there was very definitely some game playing in regards to the Apollo Beach, Florida dispatcher. He most assuredly had his favorites. Not only that, if you picked up a trailer which the previous driver left in poor condition such as improperly rolled tarps and you pointed it out to this dispatcher, he would tell the driver who left it that way that you were complaining about him rather than telling the offending driver to do it right! CT has just about been booted out of Lowes and in typical Comcar fashion, they make little or no effort to get new customers. Comcar, the parent company has been a sick, sinking ship for a long time. They've sold off a huge amount of assets, closed multiple terminals and has only a skeleton crew of drivers. The Jacksonville CT/Comcar terminal looks like a junk yard. For you people new to the business or who are just considering CT or any flatbed company as your first job...I hope you fully understand you are going to work your rear end off messing with tarps. You will tarp and untarp in all weather conditions including windy days and 100 degree days, you will get dirty. Although you may think you are superman and nothing will ever happen to you, the facts are your chance of getting hurt in flatbed operations are higher than vans. People do fall from loads, straps break and bungi cords love to break and aim right for an eye. You will need to practice common sense securing your load and not take short cuts or chances. You will not have the walls of a trailer to help you. You can go about thinking how much of a "special breed" you are but the facts are as they are.

Ooops, xlsdraw and 123456 Thank this.
