I wouldn't get in one of those mid roof ugly ### lightweight freightliners to save my life
edit: and for someone thinking "but they have prostars" ..well I wouldn't want to wait on the side of the road every week for a tow truck

I was just recently fired from USA TRUCK due to in less than 6 months of DOT stopping me at the scale house and doing normal check. Out of 11 years i wasn't sure this was legal. Everything i find it's not good for the driver, and i didn't lose my C D L . But found out my C S A score is at 71 points, anyone in this situation?

I am sorry about your situation. I just recently spoke to another driver that lost his job this way. When you drive for a larger company especially one like USA Truck whom has a large amount of greenhorns driving for them, you have a target the size of Texas on your backside. During the time I drove for them they had such a bad time with roadsides that they kept a mechanic posted at all the terminal entrances doing inspections. This is the genesis of my termination from USA Truck. Over a period of four months I went through three tractors all three wore slap out. I was losing miles and the last tractor l picked up in Roanoke had that anti-pollution crap on the APU. For some reason whenever I tried to engage the burn circuit I got a charging system warning light. To this day I believe the problem was in the charging system. However I could never get the mechanics to check it. After two weeks of little or no sleep because of the heat I went off on the mechanics at one of the terminals. About two hours later my fleet manager called me and told me I had been fired. I think another reason I got fired was on numerous occasions I refused to put a piece of junk trailer on the road. I had a problem once in Indianapolis when breakdown made me wait for several hours before they even called a local company to come out and change several tires. That trailer was in such bad shape that only one tandem locking pin was engaged. No matter what I did I could not get the other three in. Thankfully through all of this crap I was able to keep my CSA score down.
My advice for all of you active drivers. Don't be scared of this. Just learn what the DOT checks for and keep your rigs legal. Don't be timid when you see problems, tell the company. I also think you should call safety if operations or maintenance directs you to violate any DOT safety rule..Gods child and DENNIS BARKER Thank this. -
