The miles are all in how you do it, keeping that door closed, being "greedy" with your company. I can see how in some areas it's not going to happen, and in other areas or other segments of trucking in it's more likely to happen. Hell, come Nov. 18th, I'll have been with my company 18 yrs, at that point I'll be about 100K shy of 2 million miles, and I don't "go anywhere", my primary operating area is a 7 state region, with 90% of that being a 3 state region, I sleep at home most every night, but I still get in the miles.

My last 7 days on Elogs

9/20 - 267.3 Loaded in San Juan Bautista CA
    9/21 - 705.4
    9/22 - 647.8
    9/23 - 666.5
    9/24 - 621.8
9/25 - 178.3 unloaded Pottsville, PA; Loaded Edison, NJ
    9/26 - 574.7

    Total 3661.8

Still have 9:30 remaining on my 70.

I pretty much run coast to coast and border to Border so not a lot of loading and unloading.

in the end, as someone else said, there are truck drivers, and then there are steering wheel holders.

which DO YOU wish to be..>??

are you taking too much time on line 4..??

are you taking too much time, refueling, sleeper time, break time.???

when your time is up, get going.

stay off line 4 as much as possible.

as you have read (if you are indeed still reading) is that it can be done.

again, what do YOU WANT TO BE....??

    DRIVER.........or.........steering wheel holder...........???????????????????

man up and do the job.

I did 693 in a 66 mph truck, still had 10 minutes when I parked, but nowhere else to go. It was on 80 out west.
