I have owned brand new. I now have a 1993 with a whole lot of money in it. You could say that I have been on both sides of the coin. I cringe when I see a shiny newer truck. That feeling passes quickly when it is possible to sit at home when I want to, or when work is slow, or to say no to cheap loads and sorry shippers. Give me the devil I know and I will go with him. Now you have .02 worth of advice from one more ?.

Agreed.. married to mine now too. I never liked this truck. I'm more of a Pete or KW guy. Columbia is an ugly truck.

I spent all the money I had been saving for another truck to redo the motor in this on. I've gotta run it for at least 3 more years before I can even start looking at other trucks. Not unless I want a divorce from my real wife. LOL

I've got an 05 with pre emissions C15. Paid $20k for it. I've got maybe $40k all in on this truck and besides my one little hick up that was my fault.. it been very reliable. And now after rebuild, I'm seeing honest 5.9 - 6.5 mpg tanks fully loaded. I do step deck.

Ugly yes.. would I rather have a KW or Pete.. hmm you need to ask? But Freightliner suspension is pretty simple and tough. Once you get on top of the little things and work out the rattles in the interior.. they are pretty reliable money makers.

U need to set a goal to put that truck pmt money to a truck replament fund. Remember, your cost will increase with newer rig.

You'd do better by starting a thread in The Garage ... just start one though and only in one place ...
