I'm thinking of going over to Mercer in the next month but I live in GA and was going to see if anybody runs just AL, GA, SC, NC, and TN also what do you pull step or flat. How many miles are you running and your bring home for the week?

You could ask this in one of the mercer threads.....that search bar is your friend. Lots of folks before you have asked this question.

Realizing you asked this a few weeks ago and probably already have your answer I'm going to respond anyway. A recruiter once told me there are 1200 drivers here and 1200 ways to make money. What that really means is everybody's situation is different. I personally cannot make enough to suit me by staying in that area and I live in east central georgia. Georgia frieght is just too cheap. Deadhead is often lengthy compared to the loaded miles in the area you limited it too also. Now all that said, I have a very new truck and high overhead. If you have an older truck that's paid for or close to it then it may very well work out fine for you. In Georgia the Savanah agent has the best paying frieght so I deal mostly with them. I rarely pull for the Atlanta office. So the short answer is it depends on your situation and like everything else at Mercer how much you make is totally up to you no matter what trailer you pull or where you run. I hope that helps even though it wasn't very specific.

I live not far from Penn, 50 mikes maybe, I run 37 states, they do have a short haul board of 400 miles or less, all my stuff paid for, but I run whatever makes money. I will stay 3 months at a time if the money is flowing. But tiTs the beauty here, you do exactly what you want.

Does mercer have good rates in st louis and chicago? I just got approved and will be going to orientation on the 17th, the recruiter told me that they had great rates in these areas and pretty much the whole midwest. Is this true? He seemed like a straight shooter but alot of these recruiters will tell u what ever u want 2 hear 2 get u 2 jump ship

Can you drive for Mercer if you DO NO speak with a Southern Accent? I am a Wisconsin boy who is proud of Harley Davidson (made in Milwaukee) I wear Red Wing boots (Made across the MS River in MN) and drink Miller beer from a can. On my off days I work on my truck with Snap-On Tools ( Made in Kenosha WI).
