Not a dig. I am Agnostic and wife Wiccan. Took a quick look and they say they may check in with A spiritual leader to confirm requirements. Will dig around and see what I can find.

Obama Care: Health Insurance & Hospital Stays has indeed increased over the years...in some cases spiraled. There is one really sound reason to have this universal coverage...to get a grip on Health Care System Fraud.
Further, Investigations into Heath Care Fraud has been going on by multiple Federal Agencies over the past few years new cases are being reported on daily basis charging this Dr. and that Health Care related Supplier with Fraud.
Working a Trucking Job...You never really get to digest how many people can be lacking of possessing a back bone and not focusing on working their job...i.e. always for the quick buck. -
While a universal coverage idea to reign in cost sounds good on paper, it doesn't seem to be really playing out in reality. Cost have not really declined, and the number of medical providers has decreased as well. The folks out here in the cheap seats are not doing all that great with it. Sure, some have gotten subsidies to medical insurance premiums, but that money came from everyone else, so there has been no real net gain for everyone.
I still contend that freeing up the process, allowing Flo from Progressive and the GEICO Gecko to sell policies on TV and across state lines, and letting the various insurance companies fight among themselves for your dollar is the best way to approach this. And when you get them fighting among each other and their profit margins are lower, you can be sure that when some medical provider tries to scam the system, they will be all over them like white on rice. When government has control, things get out of line, scammers do it for a long, long time before being caught, and prices can be inflated to scam the system as well. Just a cursory look at Medicaid, Medicare, and the VA should be enough to prove that point. And before government got it's hands on the student load stuff, college was more affordable to everyone. Now, you have to mortgage your life to go to college. They have been able to jack up the prices for school because of the government opening up the student loan floodgate. If left to compete for your limited dollars, college would be substantially more affordable.
Government may mandate medical insurance coverage. They mandate auto insurance coverage, but do medical insurance like auto insurance. Allow the consumer to shop around, allow the insurance companies fight among each other for your business, and get a lot of the cost for premiums and actual coverage lower.Last edited: Oct 3, 2015
Claysapparel, Oxbow, 1johnb and 4 others Thank this. -
Interesting, thanks @rollin coal . I was unaware of Healthcare Sharing Ministries.
Like @Blu_Ogre I don't qualify for Medi-share, but its worth looking for similar programs. The fact that they are not insurance and have no obligation to pay out would make me a little uneasy though, so I'd want to know that the administrators are truly trustworthy. The structure kind of reminds me of risk retention groups, which in the trucking insurance world have been known hotbeds of administrative fraud...Blu_Ogre Thanks this. -
Cowpie reading the first part of your last comment made me think you were talking about trucking.
Completion, cutting rates, government regulations, the big guy bending over the small with no remorse. -
Here in Cali, to get on the state sponsored Medical. you cannot make no more than $16,000 per year. that averages out to about $1,300 a month. so over the road truck drivers do not qualify for state sponsored medical coverage.

If not, what are alternatives that meet the ACA requirements and our requirements for insurance while out of state? -
Instead of playing the exchange game only, contact an independent insurance agent and find out what is available.

Did not read posts..
You can get covered well by United Healthcare for $135 a month...I dropped the crappy company plan, laughed at Nobamacare, and stuck with my own plan
Used to not be smart to do, uncommon, way more expensive...Not so much anymore...
