I know a few but as I mentioned making that kind of money, they are either slave to the road or getting really good rates.

Sometimes I wish the forum had an "UNLIKE" button.;)

I worked for them in a management capacity at DC 6815 in Laurens, SC during the period Mr Sam was alive through and after when he died. I saw up close and personal from the inside how the company changed from somewhere really good to work to the #### place it is today.

I make that much now driving for a different private fleet and I'm home every weekend and don't have all the micromanagement and BS rules to deal with but even if I were still at a common carrier I wouldn't drive for them if they paid $10 a mile.

I drive across town NOT to shop there even now all these years later.

The reason everyone doesn't work for Walmart is plain and simple unlike other companies Walmart doesn't hire every super trucker out there.

Right cause some uniforms and some easy rules aren't worth some of the highest wages in the industry.

Maybe some of us value our sanity over the all mighty dollar.

Most rules at a corporation are made to reduce the load on their overworked managers, not for the convenience of the the employees that actually perform work.

Walmart has very high standards for who they hire. They want the creme dela creme of truck drivers, which is sadly a rare breed today. They won't hire any old Swift driver to drive their trucks.

And like others have said, they micromanage pretty heavily. I've read that they check your phone records to see your phone usage, and if they see you sent a text message while you're logged on line 3, you're terminated.

Not to mention that Walmart is just a despicable company in general.

You can make that kind of money without having to work for Walmart, but as with most companies that pay well, it isn't simply just a matter of applying and hopping on board. Especially the ones where you don't have to work 12-14 hrs/day 6 days/week.
