Getting ready for another NY and back. Loaded in record time yesterday afternoon, 24k out to the doors. Perfect. Roll it out to the 41' mark and ride long. This load is not quite heavy enough to verify the trailer abs repair, but so far so good. The inspect me light did not come on during the 35 mile trip to top reefer fuel then home terminal. The 35k coming back should be enough to test it out.
With that first scale ticket showing just 220 lb to spare, I'd have gone ahead and moved the 5th wheel forward 2 notches right away to gain that advantage, then the trailer tandems however many to get it just under 34k. I only would have re-weighed due to it being so close, as well as doing two separate adjustments at once. Depending on how far to the next coop, I would have rolled with your scale ticket number 5.
Technically, you're safer being heavier on the drives. More available capacity there. Keep in mind you're burning about 100 lb of fuel every 100 miles. On your truck, that's probably around 30%/70% split, steer/drives. So fuel burn comes off the drives more too.
Maybe you should have gone back and had another skid put on the tail!![]()

i will either put up screening material and plaster over that, or i do have small squared plaster boards in the cellar, i can cut to fit. i just have a dam vent pipe going from the wall up the the ceiling i'd have to make cut outs for.
screening and plastering may be faster and more precise..... -
Screening is the route I'd take. Looks cleaner IMO
