Pause. Take the time and do the research necessary to find the correct path to take to get the young man into a company driver position. There's a huge learning curve to succeeding in this industry. Regardless of the quality of the individual. Start by picking up the newest version of a the Green Book. Consult a Trucker specific attorney if necessary. Roadmaster just gets a person a license. It does not train one to be a trucker.

I was curious about insurance. That is where the big box companies get their drivers because a regular insurance company is probably going to have a requirement of how long he has had a CDL.

You won't find me sticking up for Prime but did he contact them and say they were showing a failed drug test on his DAC by mistake? They move so many people through there that unless he pissed somebody off it might just be a paper mistake.

Actually he did take a drug test with prime, the first one when he could not produce, and that counts as a failure.

But a refusal is a failure, by FMSCA regulations. It is an automatic failure.

Yes we called Prime and actually the hotel called him yesterday to ask if he was still in the room.. The Insurance is already done as I will actually lease the truck for him under a company with 1 million worth of general liability which the max coverage is only 750k. I will also got 100k worth of cargo insurance. I have sent in for all of the licences permits for him to have his own authority. I have done this because I know he did nothing wrong and I know this is a life long dream for him.. Prime has said that he needs to talk to his recruiter but unfortunately thats what they told him when he was there and she is on vacation still. We filed the dispute with dac and will hear what he needs to do in 30 days. But I do not want him to do nothing waiting on that because simply they don't have to have proof of anything to keep it on the report. It will automatically come off in 3 years.

Well according to his paper work it was not a test because he did not produce enough to test. plus they are running 87 people through minimum in 1 class. So who knows what they actually keep track of.

Thats the thing he did not refuse he peed he just came up with less then they needed. they also do a split test so I believe that had something to do with the amount required. When he came up with not the amount needed they said it was a No test and he would need to pee again at a later time. Since it is all in the same facility he never left the testing facility.

I guess they can say 1 thing and mean another. I would think they would know he is not the dot or rules committe so they might want to say what they mean and mean what they say

Thanks I agree there is a great deal involved. I have No plans to set him up for failure so when I lease his truck I will also have the authority. He will get his license I will bring in another Class A driver to run the truck as a team and the truck will run that way for as long as it takes for him to become comfortable. I will run the business side of it for him and when he is ready I will turn it over to him and his family. He may decide to lease his truck to another carrier aand run for them but that will be down the road till he understand the industry. The entire industry

actually under FMSCA rules, he can not leave the testing office, until he produces, or it is an automatic failure. And he did leave the testing office. Does not matter if it is one big complex. Does not matter what they told him, either, as the regulations state he did not complete the test when required, and that is a failure. And since he decided to leave, Prime has no option but to report the failed test. Had he stayed, and been retested, prime would have reported the second test. And the split test is required by FMSCA regulations.
