The worst in trucking is dealing with grocery warehouses or union steel mills.
That's why pulling tankers is the best; you deal with pretty smart people at chemical plants or even food grade plants.

 

My cousin was like that; IQ over 140, I think it's 147. Spent 25 yrs. in Leavenworth Federal Prison.
You're nephew with no job, two felonies, and 25 yrs. old is just using delaying tactics to keep from working. At least that looks like the pattern from my observations of other people.
I know a guy right now that has 2 grown children and he has never had a job. Always has this big plan to get rich but everyone else is holding him back. He conned his own family/relatives into loaning him several thousand dollars to start a business last year. Instead he lost it gambling and scared to leave his house because he now owes some shady characters $1,000,000.00 in gambling debts. Everytime they catch him outside they beat him within an inch of his life. Funny!!

far as the DAC 3 ( or is it 5) years before whats on there no longer counts against you
far as the pay, you were a L/O right? if there is no paycheck it is part your fault. did you run your numbers make sure you would get paid? did you run the right loads? watch your expenses?

Don't know anything about the company; one mans trash is another mans treasure.
I just know they're there but can't honestly recommend or not recommend. I've read they do lots of produce and refrigerated from California/Southwest to East Coast.

 

Have you heard of Red Leaf Corportation? Dry van out of Ft. Scott, KS. Has lease/purchase..

 

Hey original poster, apply to a company that doesn't use DAC. Many smaller companies don't use dac.

 

Trucking as a career is not the big mistake, nobody wants to pay their dues anymore, feel they should be paid just like veteran truck drivers straight out of school. That's why there is no compassion for driver horror stories, we've all got the same stories from when we started. You should decide if this career is right for you and if it is do your research( understanding that you have dug a hole and it will take time to get out), on companies and go with what's best suited for your situation.
