    The only thing that seems to be "superior" is the "supreme" amount of hooey circulating amongst so many posts.

    That pseudo macho baloney about whining seems to come up more often than a check engine light on a typical CWTL special.

    I'll chime in here and "whine" about the low pay and lousy conditions that are so much a part of the Conway Truckload experience;
    Basically (and totally) the pay stinks.

    Specifically, $450.00-$750.00 a week average for upwards of 100 hours a week of work just doesn't fly. Not for me nor all the other 98% of the drivers that are jumping ship faster than a Conway stooge running a three legged race at a company picnic.

    Oh and yeah, a real man (or woman) shouldn't whine.. do something about it!
    Maintain a positive attitude!
    Go talk to someone! Don't forget that you are all powerful (that's why you are a truck driver in the first place) and you are able to force change ( by either gentle or forceful persuasion) in the powers that be. Any person of strength can tell you that.

    I'm sure Conway management will be more than happy to oblige you in changing all their regular operations to accommodate such a magnificent individual such as yourself!
    Try it! It really works!

    Yes sir! You are a rock! A pillar of power! The world is your oyster!
    Should those pearls roll before swine its nobody's fault but your own!

    I do heartily agree with the bottom line on the quoted posters' bottom line;
    "If you're not happy at Conway, go somewhere else".
    To which I might add;
    "And the sooner, the better"!

    Jiffy Lube or Big O Tires never looked any better.
    Or paid any worse.

    Kewl!
    Another newb, freshly processed and packaged.
    Here's the painful truth:
    $450.00-$750.00 a week average for 100 hour work weeks.
    Sometimes, not even that.
    And you coupla fellas (and a lady or two) that seem to think you're only 'working' when driving, stick around awhile.
    And in the meantime...
    Go get em' Tiger!

    Wtf?
    Go get em tiger !?!

    Dunno why but I busted out laughing.

    Oooooohhhhh Joe.

    I count being forced out of the truck to a breakroom prison work myself. I actually took off at deka battery once on my bike to arbys. Yard guy was pissed when I got back four hours later.
    Turns out they only took three hours and 55 minutes.

    Record right?

    :D

    My buddy made $42,000 his first year working at Con-Way. He did quit because the miles started slacking, but then again, after the first year, he stopped running the way he used to. I averaged at least 3,000 miles a week for the 5 months that I worked for them. I'm actually scheduled for orientation on Monday in Jacksonville, FL. I've been to other companies, and I'm excited to be going back to Con-Way. If it doesn't work out, I still have a CDL and a decent driving record; I'll simply go elsewhere.

    So, you're going to work for FREIGHT and not TRUCKLOAD, right?

    BTW, it won't be "Con-way" on Monday, it will be XPO.

    Oh! I didn't know we did orientation in Jacksonville! We don't have a terminal there, just a drop yard.

    Interesting!

    Yeah, I was thinking they would do it in that drop yard, but the e-mail actually says that they're going to be holding orientation in the hotel. I guess they're going to utilize a conference room.
