Okay dude, just got to blast you.
Nope not sorry....
You literary just said .90 a mile (Reefer) and is a "Great option" in the same post.
Frankly I'm flabbergasted by your comment.
.90 a mile for Reefer.. for dealing with lumpers, Grocery warehouses and trailer wash outs!
You know how bad that is... SWIFT pays more than that and that's Swift and dry Van.
You know you've hit rock bottom as a carrier when your O/O/flease program pays less than Swift.
Throw in TransScam, JCT and Stevens etc into the mix for flease scams that'll send you on the road to bankruptcy!
Heck I'll throw in a Stevens AD from their site
See that right there.. what they don't tell you is that driver in the picture is praying to the Trucking Gods to save him from Bankruptcy and to forgive his sins for pulling a Reefer at .85!
Yes .85 at Stevens.. some carriers enjoy not using lube!
When you factor in ALL costs, maintenance, flease payment, insurance, fuel, breakdowns, time YOU pay in hotels while getting repairs, actual miles which won't be close to paid miles at that terrible rate, paying a higher tax rate etc etc etc.. you'll end up earning less than a CR England company driver when it's all said and done.
Yeah "Great option".. for the trucking company.
To lease or not to lease?

If a company is being paid @ 2 dollars a mile to haul freight and are paying you 90 cents per mile, what are you getting for the 1.10?
Do you need all the dispatchers, the shop, the planners, the sells people, the office folks, the managers, the new buildings, the trainers, the recuiters, the bankers?
If you feel that there is value in what they are offering you, go for it. Some people have made leasing work. There is a man at ACT trucking that has 5 trucks now. He is the brightest man I ever met but has stuck with the program.
You must be willing to out preform the pack to make a lease work. If you are, you will be a success. -
Straight Stacks and freightwipper Thank this.

I hear tell CR England lease drivers make $300,000 a year. I read it on the internet so it has to be true.
codyhopkins Thanks this. -
If you have been doing this for 10 yrs then do yourself a favor and STAY a company driver. Lease purchases are normally written in the companies favor. And like everyone else says, percentages are way better than cpm. But if you are just now trying to get info on becoming an o/o then you are better off staying a company driver.

Asking to "to lease or not to lease?" Is like asking should I reply to the Nigerian prince e-mail with my banking information or not?
HalpinUout Thanks this. -
If leasing is the only way you can get a truck... its Gods way of telling you......you cant afford it...stay a company driver
-
You stole that from me!lots of character, Straight Stacks and freightwipper Thank this. -
Why can't the mods ban lease purchase threads. Same #### over and over. Gets old. 90 percent of this forum is can I get hired, drug test info, and who has a good lease purchase plan.
lots of character Thanks this.
