So you did Chicagoland and Jersey this week with no issues. Time to play the lottery.

    dca Thanks this.
  4. My location is a testament to the large amount of the trucking community that seems to dislike my homeland of Jersey.

Come on this is the best that ya'll have got?

Here's my all-time favorite supertrucker story:

This was a couple years ago, I was still a company driver for SNI at the time, must have been early fall. I was at the drop yard for the night, which was the abandoned OC (Woodhaven I think?) that was right next to the Detroiter truck stop aka now it's just another crappy Pilot/FJ.

I was pulling a relay out of there so I found a place to park and was doing a walk around on the trailer before I settled in for the night. A couple empty slots over another SNI driver was parked as well, nosed in.

He was out spraying tire shine all over EVERYTHING on his truck (like his mirrors, door handles, window seals, etc.). I just gave a friendly "hey" as I walked by around the back of my trailer and started messing with the stupid tire pressure equalization thing that of course was leaking.

Since I am a younger guy I guess this driver took it upon himself to come over and thought I was an easy target to impress with his supertrucker stories. We talk for a few and then he asks if I wanted to go get some pancakes at IHOP. Of course I had already planned to go over there, but I'd feel like a **** if I told him "no" and then ran into him over there eating pancakes by himself a few minutes later.

So we're over at IHOP eating pancakes and having the usual smalltalk and I ask about the Canadian flag sticker in his window and turns out he was one of the Canadian SNI drivers. So we get to talking about that and we're talking about differences in miles and pay and this guy seizes the moment and shifts into that extra gear that supertruckers have and just lets it roll.

He asks what I make per mile, I tell him, he looks at me for a second and shakes his head and then goes on to tell me about just how much more he makes since he apparently the Canadian drivers make SOO much more than the US drivers do.

Next he goes on to tell this whole story about how he oftentimes hauls loads that require him to ride on the ferry to Newfoundland and has to throw in how oftentimes he'll go up to the bar and get a drink or three since the ferry takes "almost" 10 hours and he's close enough to drinking on his off-duty time.

As he continues on the stores get less and less believable.

I'm finishing up the last few bites of my pancakes and he finally drops this one:

This driver apparently has several special clearances and has hauled top secret documents from Canadian government buildings straight to the White House, where he has met the president himself. Before hauling these top-secret documents, Schneider removed the governor on his truck because he had a flashing-lights police escort all the way from wherever in Canada to D.C., a trip on which they rode in the left lane the entire time and never got below 75 MPH.

I just smiled and nodded as I do with all these supertruckers. When it came time to pay, I guess being personable payed off as he was nice enough to pay for my meal too.

On the way back to our trucks he ends it with telling me about how he hopes to get home to his bisexual wife soon, as he often gets "included" in his wifes... "interactions" with another woman. She also had a stripper pole installed recently, I learned as I hop in the cab of my truck.

I have not made any of the above up or exaggerated it in any way. This guy was as serious as he could be. The stories from him were told so well and obviously rehearsed I'm sure they have been told many times. I'm sure he thought I really believed him. Hey, at least I got a free dinner out of it.

See a woman emptying a kitty litter box while fueling. I can only imagine what that truck smells like.

Probably smells better than the 350+ lb (each) couple pouring out of a truck with 3 large breed dogs spilling out behind them. Seen that more than once
