I had an accident on 4/11/14 and a speeding ticket on 5/7/14 that happened before I got my CDL. We are looking at buying a truck for our farm but to put me on as a driver bumps insurance up $10,000 because of the accident and the ticket. The accident was just my vehicle so there was no at fault. Is there any way to get these off my driving record? Insurance goes back 3 years so if they are there the insurance will be sky high. Anybody know a good lawyer or someone in Alabama to talk to?

You had a single vehicle accident and it wasn't your fault? Did you run into yourself, or did your self run into you?
Blackshack46, str8t10, xlsdraw and 3 others Thank this. -
I spun out and hit a pole. No insurance claims were filed. All they did was write up a report. Nothing else happened...

Thank you for the lesson.... I have to remember this when I get into my car and I am in a hurry. I didn't know a police report generated an accident on your driving record without a ticket or an insurance claim.... But, now that I have read this. It makes perfect sense. Sorry for your situation!

Spin out and hit a pole = you are at fault regardless of insurance claims. Control of the car is your responsibility, end of story

Unfortunately the accident you will not be able to get off your MVR. No matter what happened and whether or not there was a claim there is nothing you can do to get the report off the MVR. As you stated it was a single vehicle accident with no insurance claims. The report was written by a law enforcement official and is subjective to the incident that occurred. Then that incident was transferred to the accident report and submitted to DMV. There was nothing criminal about the incident as you were not ticketed therefore you would be on a wing and a prayer to try and get this off your record. I haven't seen it happen in 21+ years.
As far as your ticket goes that is also going to be tough to get off. You obviously plead guilty to the charge for it to be on your record. Having it removed would take some money and an attorney. You may have better luck on this one, but it would be far and few between to get it off once you made the plea, but an attorney would be willing to take your money with no guarantees that it would come off.
In summary you have a slim chance of getting one off your record and pretty much no chance getting the other off. Only guarantee of them coming off is time.
