@freightwipper its a starter company guy, get your panties out of a bunch. They help you get experience and then you can move to better companies, it was never my intention to stay there forever. I was just correcting your prior statement that you felt so confident about. Perhaps you'll do a little more research next time before providing incorrect information.
-
Those #s are really weak, even for a starter company. They're robbing you blind. With a record, maybe you had limited options.
freightwipper Thanks this. -
@xlsdraw you would be correct sir lol

wow, $7,200! When I went to school at cr england in 2006 the cost was $2000. And no contract. I stayed until the schooling was paid off.
-
@rachi Yeah the cost is quite expensive to say the least, but as long as you follow through with the contract you don't have much to worry about.

.34 is the most they pay a new hire even if they have 30 years experience according to their site.
A freaking extra penny after suffering for 120000 miles.. for slave wages is like a slap in the face and not even worth me bring up.
Yeah dude if you stay working at Burger King long enough you'll go from min wage to an extra dollar per hour one day, can't forget to leave that out
If you have limited options and your goal is to get experience and then GTFO then hey that's great, I kinda did that myself on my path.
An experienced driver working a Cel-a-Con would be a joke though. -
After 15 years you'll be at a good rate that is if inflation stops -
Keep us updated! Have any idea what kind of truck you'll be put in once you grad?

So far things have been coming along pretty nice. Last week there was two days, (Monday, Friday) Where I didn't do anything with a truck at all, which was pretty upsetting. That Saturday however, I went on 2 drives with the trainer. I have finally started scoring 3s and 4s, the trainers grade you on a scale from 0-5. 0 being the lowest score possible, and when you start scoring almost all 5s your ready to test out.
My drives on Saturday weren't that bad, I seem to have more of a problem up-shifting than down-shifting. Which I don't understand how that happens but oh well. Also I was having trouble with stalling the truck, I wasn't giving enough gas to the truck before I let the clutch out. The worst part is that I struggle with maintaining my lane, I'm always looking in my mirrors and my body wants to turn that way as well so I have to train myself to stop doing that.
Today I went driving, and I only scored 2 3s out of everything which is pretty awesome. I didn't have an issue stalling my truck, I maintained my lane without an issue, and for the most part my shifting was great. My shifting is the only thing that I scored those 2 3s on. I did run over a curb today though, but that was about as bad as it got.
I also have been practicing my off-set and parallel backing. Today was the first day I did it by myself, unfortunately though I took the lives of 2 cones on the range today. The instructor was about to send me over to range 3 but I told him I wanted to stay on range 2 for a little longer till I could do the maneuvers without running over cones.
My time here has been pretty swell honestly and I still feel the same way as when I first got here. The instructors are great, the campus and dorms are fine, they stay updated with your progress and let you move at your own pace. This place only has one big con to me however and that is the teacher to student ratio. There are tons of students here, and no where near as many instructors. That honestly is my only gripe about this place. If your trying to learn and you really put your all into this program, then I don't see any reason why you will not succeed. The instruction is great, the people are great, I'm honestly just so happy to be here and I'm glad I made this choice.
I'll continue to keep you guys updated, until then be safe!
