Besides vacation and moving house there isn't much trucking going on this month.
A picture from the famous Hotel California in Todos Santos. Somebody created that out of old oil drums.
The new place came with a great RV shelter and I get to park under cover. Should be great until I get stuck in my own yard and have to chain up to get out of the grass.dca, Lone Ranger 13, CanadianVaquero and 5 others Thank this. -
vikingswen and joseph1135 Thank this.

Well, I had to go back to work after almost a month off. Winter is approaching quickly up North. I had plenty of snow and ice covered roads. Probably ran close to 1000mls on slick roads on this trip. Sunday morning I woke up to zero degrees in the Yukon.
Spent the night at the truck wash to be first in line. It will be close to $200.00 to get it mostly clean.
Unfortunately, we lost two more Alaska trucks in the last month. Both drivers are okay, but all equipment is totaled. One of them hit black ice between the Alcan border crossing and Tok and the second fell victim to Cassiar Highway in Northern BC.
Here is a picture of the first 5700 running up North. It will interesting to see fuel mileage in comparison. We have the same engine, transmission and rears.Al. Roper, rexmanno, joseph1135 and 5 others Thank this. -
I predict he will kick yer butt...

We have a Cascadia with a DD16 and he beat me by about .2mpg on the round trip. I don't think aerodynamics play that big of a role when going North. The roads are terrible and we spend 90+ percent on two lane roads that seem to go uphill both ways.
I am probably one of the slowest trucks and my weight is usually between 87,000 to 90,000lbs. Fuel economy is going out the window with winter coming.mountaingote Thanks this. -
