Couple of questions about OD

It's a great place to work. The pay and benefits are very good, and you're treated with respect and not micro-managed every second of the day. (Which lets face it, that's one of the best parts about being a truck driver) Here in the west, if you come in with LTL experience, you start at $23.45 an hour, $21.30 with no LTL experience. No OT till after 60, but you won't see it. They have a "58 hour" cutoff... Meaning you hit that and it's go home see you next week. Top pay, after the September raise is $27.30 per hour and it takes 3 years to top out.

P&d is not for everyone... I've had days where I'll take a pup out with 4-5 stops, then the next day I'm dragging around a 53' with 17 stops in it. It varies so much day to day. You could run as little as 30 miles round trip for the day, or you could put on 130 miles, all depends on where they decide to send you. With being bottom man on the board, expect to do something different everyday... Which isn't a bad thing because it keeps it interesting. Expect lots of tire deliveries, lots of liftgate and inside deliveries and many places a 48'-53' trailer should not go, but you got to make it work. I swear you have to be part McGuiver to do this job haha.

Schedule will vary from barn to barn, but a 5 day workweek is pretty standard. It may be M-F, S-T, or even Tues-Sat... All depends on where they need you.

Apply man, jump through the hoops needed to get on, you won't regret the decision. OD is aiming and heading for the top... Get on now and come prosper with us.

That's P and D side . Line haul you will run your 70 out . Not a Monday thru Friday job. But the money is there! I leave every Thursday and get back on Tuesday.

I understand that. He was asking about p&d so I was giving him information about that.

have my thanks for doing it so I don't have to. I got my fill of that at the last place I worked.

Good deal. They wouldn't bring you in for an interview if they weren't interested. If they like the interview, they will set you up for a road test and a drug screen. Good luck to you, and let us know how everything goes.

Ok so I met with the Manager today, I'm thinking this was more than a 'meet and greet' rather than an interview, because he was surprised that I had already received my CDL. (on the resume I said I'd have it by the 19th of this month)

From what he told me I think they're looking to hire during the spring so they're looking for good candidates now so they can go ahead and do the road test, background check, and 5 weeks of training.

I just need to get my endorsements (and a few other school docs) so we can schedule a road test. Would of had all my endorsements beforehand but just didn't have the finances for the Hazmat and background check.
