Hello Cherry, Glad you signed up on TTR and responded to my post about Joe and Lowell. Sure do miss those days and enjoyed my time
    driving for Joe.
Have a great day and say hello to Penny and Dennis.

Anybody remember Schanno with their stainless trailers? C.H.Dredge out of Utah? Carretta always looked sharp. I remember those North Georgia carpetbaggers, too. Jevic drivers always seemed happy. Montgomery Tank Lines. And of course, Southern Shaker...

Viking Freight System. If they were still around with the same original principles and values, I would probably still be there.

Wow ...do these pics bring back memories ......I worked for Carretta for 5 years back in the '80's....drove a cabover Freightliner teaming to the coast , then Pete # 895 , also teaming to the coast,.then drove the triangle solo to Chicago , up to Mass. then back to Jersey in a Kenworth ,# 305.....BEST company I ever worked for ....thought I'd be there till I retired .....They actually had respect for the drivers and all their employees ....treated everyone like family.....Joe was great but outside endeavors over took his vision...too many distractions ....great people working there ... Jake , Saigon John , Art......Ed Leonard , Pete Media, 2 of the best dispatchers ever....I'd walk off a cliff for either 1 , no questions asked ...as good as it was it was even better before I got there ...bringing in Jim Henderson and then his protege Mike Parks was the beginning of the end ......all down hill from there sad to say.......Shanno , Monfort , Big Sky Co-Op, Schaeffer Trucking ....all top notch , top pay back in the day
