It was more fun bashing the bespectacled cue ball.
Boardhauler, Bean Jr. and Long FLD Thank this. -
Are there any actual updates on the truck?

Big_D409 Thanks this.

I have mixed opinion about them. I met Jeff at the Walcott Jamboree 2 years ago. He seemed not that knowledgeable and in over his head. Yet on his fb page he addressed the lugging and longevity issue fairly aware of what is happening. He is aware that if he got a new truck instead, he would be far ahead, yet he has not cut ties with Baldy.
Go figure! -
Maybe he likes the taste of snake oil?

I think if he had just gotten the standard glider from Fitzgerald he would be miles ahead. Knock on wood mine has been on the road since the last week in March with over 60,000 miles and not a single issue.
Only getting 7 mpg but quite sure my driver is running it against the governor (72) all off the time. When he runs with me the mileage goes up considerably. I generally run 62-63 but with the oversize loads we have been having to push it a little to beat curfews.
Getting ready to buy another one and will definitely get another Fitzgerald. Also been thinking of retiring my old Pete and getting the Fitzgerald 389 for myself. I will turn 2 million on it this month. -
Or Harrison Freightliner where I got my glider. They build as many, or more by now, gliders than Fitz does, and they are a full blown Freightliner dealership. But if stuck on Pete, then that isn't going to work. 449,000 miles on mine and it is a doing great. Factory remanned 60 engine uses about 2 qts of oil in 25,000 miles and the lifetime mpg average is 7.84. It got 227,000 miles out of the last set of steer tires and 447,000 out of the wide based drive tires. A definite money making truck.
tommymonza, tsavory, gerardo1961 and 2 others Thank this. -

Pretty sad anytime they hit 70,000 lbs their chart shows mid 6's ... Even a stock emission truck can do mid 8's running 35 to 45 k at 62 mph .. Unless I'm reading their chart wrong they either still got a messed up truck or drive it wrong
