At some point there is a diminishing return. Perhaps 10mpg is not even possible. Crazy how some people become so obsessed with fuel mileage. If they put half of that obsessive effort into learning market rates and lanes they could, with relative ease, increase their revenue a hell of a lot more than a measly 3% of 8 mpg to 10 mpg.

I have a brick shaped long hood. I go the speed limit up to 75. My fuel costs .10 to .15 more per mile. It seems easier to me to MAKE .15 more CPM than SAVE it.........

Basically what rc is saying is its not a direct ratio. he is absolutely correct in this. do the math if you don't want to just take our word at it. Actually, don't take our word for it. Doing the math makes the concept sink in much better. It's almost like a light bulb turning on, that obvious.
Some quick numbers for you, using 2 bucks a gallon for fuel cost and 2 buck a mile rate.
4 mpg is 50 cents per mile.
Going to 6mpg results in:
33.3 cpm. A 16.7 cpm increase in your bottom line.
Going to 8mpg results in:
25 cpm a 8.3 cpm increase to your bottom line
Going to 10 mpg results in:
20 cpm a 5 cpm increase to your bottom line.
Do the math to find the percentage increase in net for each gain in mpg. It will be eye opening.Onemanshow and rollin coal Thank this. -
