Hell, CR England has one of those in its leasing department. They like to show it off to the new drivers coming in, the part they don't tell them is the money its printing is not for them.

When someone says "NET", it's hard to tell what they mean by that.

Does the OP mean net profit after all taxes have been paid, or, net profit before all taxes have been paid?

Depending on what state you live in, a 100K net after all taxes have been paid would mean you'd have to earn 150k, especially being a single, no dependents, no schedule A deductions, etc.

Gross or net is the question. I don't think their is many O/O's making 100K after expense.
And if they are are I'd say they're the dumb few not taking advantage of all available tax deductions.
But I remember two in particular who told em they claim more than they net so they could
1 Have a higher credit line
2 pay more FICA so they will draw more social security.
Just goes to show the pool needs more bleach in shallow end or possibly some women should cross their legs during childbirth.

Unless you are a doctor or a lawyer it is very hard to make a LOT of money without having people working for you.

The thing is there are only so many hours in a day and so much that one person can do. If you are doing something like driving a truck which doesn't have super high barriers to entry it will be hard to make a lot because there is a lot of competition from people who are willing to do it for less.

The best way to make serious money in trucking or really any business is to get people working for you and make money off what they are doing and not just what you can do. Just think if you had five or ten trucks running and you were making even just a hundred bucks net profit off each one every day.

LOL, good luck finding good drivers at all. For the few that do exist you will be competing with multi million if not billion dollar corporations for them which have bulk pricing discounts to lower costs and far more leverage to raise rates with their capacity. Not to mention better benefits than you can ever offer as a small CO.

Only thing a small CO can offer is more miles through loose leafs and faster trucks and the megas are quickly lobbying that away as well. You have increased liability doing that anyways.
