Ok, so where is the certification. I have read all that.and more. We have a shop and I can say that I have that experience. There is no verification, hence anyone can say they are qualified.

Passeda Level 1 and my company credited me with 6 months toward required annual inspection-- company requires us to turn in a DOT inspection every 6 months.

You are correct. It's not like a diploma. Simply the service vendor or individual must certify that they meet the requirements to be performing inspections. There's supposed to be one in the equipment file from anywhere you get you're annual inspection from. In your case, you'd fill out the form yourself and drop it in the file.

The only time your certification might be questioned would be immediately following a violation-filled roadside inspection at the following DOT safety audit. Or possibly the attorneys and homicide detectives for the victims of a terrible accident involving the equipment you inspected.

Correct response to the company would be, "Goeth intercourse thyself."

I told them to get someone else to volunteer and they didn't bring it up again. Unfortunately, DOT got me anyways! I'm wondering if my company is flagged and that's why they wanted drivers to come on their own.
