Your $40.00 CAN is worth around $28.81 US , low CAN dollar is hurting Imports to Canada as well as cross border shopping and Canadian exports are not setting any records.

As for OIL there are massive layoffs in the Canadian Oil industry in Western Canada

I know What I mean op,canada is very expensive.I pack of smokes was 14.00 and that's been years ago.think of the carriers that buy fuel which is why they want drivers to fill er up here in the states before crossing into Canada.

    Q. Why does the United States owe so much more than Canada ($17 trillion dollars vs $600+ billion)?

    A. This is an unfair comparison when you consider that the U.S. economy is approximately 10 times larger than the Canadian economy.

It's a much fairer comparison to compare the "per capita" (per person) amount owed.

Each Canadian currently owes approximately $17,242.22 as their share of the Canadian national debt.

Each American currently owes approximately $61,866 as their share of the US national debt.

Yet, the dollar is still higher, amusing to say the least.
