    Good afternoon truckers report members,

We are in need of some new trailers and my question is regarding how or if there is such a thing like car fax but for trailers? I have a RigDig acct but that's only for the trucks themselves. I just want to make sure it wasn't involved in any accidents. Thanks in advance.

Are you buying brand new or well maintained single owner who used them only on Sunday to take the kids to Church??
New trailers there will be no reports as they have not been titled.
Used trailers, well it's a crap shoot and check them out real good
If used flats or steps have them stress tested before buying

You can tell by looking if it's been fixed

I was afraid of that. We are looking at used trailers, so I am looking at purchasing locally now since Ill need to go inspect personally or find a real honest mechanic.

There would be no "car-fax" for commercial trailers. Most fleet trailers were maintained and fixed by company shops and they would never document everything that happened to that trailer to a 3rd party entity knowing at some point they will have to wholesale them out

Besides they're going to repair them halfway decent. The last thing you need is a busted roof seem from a crap repair leaking all over some paper rolls.

Well, you have to keep a record maintnance for trailers, just like we do with our trucks.

They dont want to get into an accident and have them check that non-existant maintnance.
