I may be mistaken but I think only CARB cops can enforce this and there's only a handful and all seem to be around I-5

California is a lost cause.....
Dave_in_AZ, Mudguppy, A_C_Cooper and 7 others Thank this. -
What are they gonna do with all of the REGISTERED in state trucks that are as old as dirt , with floppy fenders , and wobbly mirrors rolling down the Cali freeways??
I keep wondering if they're so strict about this CARB deal , how do the in-state guys keep registering these heaps each year. Surely they have a fail safe built into the mainframe at the DMV to flag pre 05 or 07 models , whichever suits their fancy this week to pick on and decide they're not worthy to earn income.
I can tell you for a FACT... there are thousands of em. I rolled from Medford Or.to Lost Hills Ca. today and I saw a ton of old jalopies that were not even close to being compliant... all registered and tagged and stickered in California.
They're gonna have to shut them down, too. Or, there'll be anarchy.Last edited: Dec 22, 2015

Someone should just start selling a 'How To Avoid CARB'ing In CARB-ifornia' pamphlet. I would buy one.
