    Please be aware that Interstate 30 through Garland is CLOSED and the entire area has sustained severe damages. Please avoid the area unless you are Emergency Services!

    Major Traffc Advisory
    Interstate 30 is being shutdown per MPD officers on scene per Garland PD request.

    They will be shutting it down at Rose Hill Rd going EB and Horizon going WB best we can tell.

    That's an unknown at this point driver. We know the tornado crossed 30, killing four there, but no one specified what they were driving. And they are expecting, considering the damage they are seeing, that the death toll will start climbing with first light...

    Payers going out to those affected tonight.

    I-30 is open this morning, but expect delays due to debris laying everywhere. Avoid the area if possible. As posted, there were 11 fatalities last night, many in the Garland area.

    Had found a pretty good write up on the Garland storm last Christmas
    Some of the video is raw footage from a traffic-cam and shows the extreme power of tornados and the type of damage one can do and that it's best to avoid a threatened area if possible because once you get caught, there usually is no way out, especially in metro areas.
