    OK guys I turn my mic gain up and moved the mic away from the cb so I'm going to buy a new noise canceling mic what's a good reasonable price mic..this goes in a truck that a driver is in so I don't want to spend a lot and they don't take care of it ..

    I like the Astatic 636L, you can get one for about $45 locally at the truck stop. If you shop online you can find them cheaper, Ranger SRA198 gets good reviews as well and can be had cheaper on line.

    If you don't want to go online, your local T/A probably carries the High Gear / Cobra noise cancelling mic for the for about $35. Affordable, easy walk-in solution.

    That only works if the radio has been properly tuned. Once it's been altered by 99% of the shops out there all bets are off on that mic gain control.

    New astatic 636 for around $22 on ebay. I think the sra 198's are $25. The sra 198 is a much better made and more durable mic compared to the 636's imo.
