If I know Moose he is in bed right now. But yes he runs dry van OTR for Swift.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Why do you ask that specific question?
I've run a few refer loads as well.
Hated them even more.
That's because I'm lazy and don't like being there sticking stickers on pallets, freezing.
I would rather be lounging warm in the bunk watching something on my computer.
Also, I've never been trained to do refer stuff.
They just have given it to me and said make sure these temps are right.
No explanation of how to do so, just do it. I had to wing it every time.
I have learned over the years to NEVER just help out on these types of accounts.
They burn me, one way or another, every time.Lightside Thanks this. -
I could start a fight over your first line.
But I won't, because I am a really nice person.
Well, in all fairness to you, I am stuck at a terminal in shop status.
I have extra time on my hands, not of my making. -

Yes, the cold side has much more work involved with it.
Dry van has one big advantage in that I'm sure I can control my schedule a lot more. I rarely drive over night, although I do get up very early most days and see the sunrise an hour or three after I start driving. -
dry van is a 100x less hassle than refer, but doesn't pay any better. which is a shame.
recievers tend to have bad attitudes often (not all of course but the bad ones are really bad)
long waits being unloaded an washouts was the biggest piaDerpDerp Thanks this. -
I wonder why anyone would choose refer over dry if it doesn't pay (much!) better.

I hated when I had to delivery to grocery store warehouse. 70% of the time the wait it's just insanely stupid. 50% of the time it seems the employees hate being there.
Then you have to deal with lumpers, which isn't all that bad but still. And a lot of grocery loads seem to want to deliver between midnight and 6 o'clock in the morning. Then you have to worry about the reefer another headache sometimes.
And it seems that 30% of the grocery warehouses are put in the combat zone of most cities. There's just no way I could have ran reefers
