Just on update for you guys:
I'm having again 2 openings. The new trucks are ready to roll in the next 2-3 weeks - just getting license plate etc.
It is 2016 Volvo 780 I-Shift. -
PC MILER ???? isn't that zip code to zip code ?
-
I use practical settings - not the shortest route.
Sometimes you loose a couple miles with it, sometimes you win a couple miles with it. In the run it even out.
As we hauling fresh produce, often we have multiple picks: if the two pick up city 10 miles from each other according to PC Miller - by Google address to address you can have around 6 miles or 14 miles - either way I'm paying 10 miles. If PC miller gives me 3-4 miles between, to make sure that I'm not under counting in big time I will adjust for address to address miles - (which by the way sometimes is worst because it can come out for 1.4 miles) Top of that one I'm paying for extra picks.
On longer run? It is exactly the something -
Example: Grand Prairie,TX - Phoenix, AZ run: PC Miller" 1060.9 miles vs Address to Address" 1063 miles
or Greeley,Co to Spanish Fork,UT - PC Miller" 536.2 miles vs Address to Address" 534 miles
Or you talking about which route you take - so if driver decide to take the longer route because he can visit friend on the way or for any other reason: making more miles than supposed to be, I really not seeing the reason why I should pay for those miles - I'm already paying the extra used fuel for it. (This is only for optimum situation: good weather, no road closures, etc - if the weather and road conditions require to have a different route the payed miles adjusted accordingly)Nitemare13 and Ditch Doctor Thank this. -

Fresh produce, west coast sounds good. Will the truck run the speed limit in all 48 states?
-
-
So another company limiting the amount of money I can make figures
-
Any pay info? Average length of haul? Direct deposit? Pay frequency? Pay detention/layover? How many trucks in fleet?
-
- This is from my company policy, and you can check it, it did not come from the clouds.
You are governed with 68. So, I do not limiting your miles to make. I’m limiting unsafe situations, accidents, speeding tickets, logbook violations, heavy fines.
So far I have done 2 DOT inspections – the inspector chooses drivers and 1 month logbook from each driver. I have to provide the logbooks, with fueling receipts and printed fuel records including date, time and place, toll receipts, BOL’s, weight tickets for that month in the question. He will spend the time, to go through on every single page, matching the reported duty status with the documentations. He also checks on every single page the distance between the reported cities, he checks the speed limits for the states – routes – hwys – populated areas touched on route in question – and it will average it out with speed – then match it with the logbook. By the way, if he finds the violations not only fine the company, but it will fine the driver too – and we do not talking about $200 - $500.
It is my company on the line. For you it is only a job, for me my life. I’m not willing to sacrifice my company so you can drive 75 mph.
