Booked a load and got the #### outta KY Wed...then straight to the barn and into Momma's warm arms. AL Gulf Coast unseasonably cold today, but we don't get that white fluffy stuff.

Pushed hard and got in Thursday night with 4 minutes left and beat the storm to the house.

Got lucky and watched it from the very warm couch and not headed back out till tomorrow and heading southish.

Blown forecast and not the big event predicted but bad enough. Inch of snow topped by 4" of sleet that quickly packed to solid ice. Everything is an ice rink and will be for a couple days.

Rocks and Flatbed Valkyrie Thank this.

Ohh.. nice to "see" you here Mr. FM... :biggrin_25519: I was wondering about you this morning, sir, when I watched the weather news on TV.... :biggrin_2554: Seems the power outage didn't reach you folks, huh?

Thank you for asking Mr. peterbilt... :biggrin_25519: I'm here...

    In TX now... :p
Truck got fixed, put all my stuff back in it, checked out of that nice hotel... Other driver dropped loaded trailer at company, I hooked to it... stopped at TA to fix one trailer light and replaced a mud-flap... and found only one truck parked at this small fuel station... Decided to shut down here instead of try to find parking at 16:00 hr at that congested Pilot north of Fort Worth... :biggrin_2552: Or that ugly TA in Denton... :biggrin_2552: Or even that Love's... This place is much, MUCH quieter... and seems much safer... :yes2557:

No we never lost power. Were lucky we got the sleet and not the freezing rain. If we had gotten that much freezing rain the power would have been out for days to a week. We were ready for it though with backup heat and power on standby

Quite a few folks not as lucky though. Latest numbers from the weather channel are 250,000 without power up the east coast.

    Rocks Thanks this.
