I did refused a load going home that would require me to alter my logs to get it done.

Why does it seem now these new younger people never want to stand up for themselves??
    Always some one else fault.
    Don't wanna work, I'm outa hours.. It's late, I'm hungry...etc...
Take the flippen trk. to the nearest company yard, Call a cab and go to the airport, rental car company or Greyhound and go home.
Take pics of the trk. and trl. get some one to sign for everything and go home now little one and look for a job that you can be home everyday and only have to work 6 hours and want a full 8 hours pay....

Then alter your logs and get it done. Some times you have to just handle your business.

When I started working here my CSA was perfect, out of 56 inspections not one in violation, since I have been here, I have had 12 violations trying to do my job. I tried to be the good employee and take the load, but all it has gotten me is a lot of grief, and a bad CSA. it doesn't really hurt the company, they can always shut it down and start a new one, this company has done it 4 times already. But a American driver can't do that. The old days of running 6 logs are over, with DOT putting up more cameras and soon a mandatory EL it doesn't pay to run over the limits.
And your right, I don't want to run more then 650 miles in a work day. this load they just gave me was 775 miles in 18 hours, and I had already drove 9 hours that day.

As I said it's not the old days, If I continue to run like this I will lose my ability to make a living, and unlike the company I can't just start over.

700 miles? Dump whats left of the fuel card balance into the tanks and bust back to the terminal. I've done it. They didn't even notice until the found the truck with the keys in it the next day. Make sure you take pics of the condition of the cab inside and out before you turn it in. You might need them if they try to claim you abused equipment.

Getting back in time for the new job is going to be a bigger deal than any pay you're expecting. They might sit on for final check for a few weeks anyway.
