Could use a little help....My wife and I are thinking about making the move to mercer. Is there a good way to find a contractor that would hire us so we can learn the system?
We are already approved to buy a truck but I've read about the long waits on a trailer. So in my brain I think it would help us to already be working there before we pull the trigger on buying the truck.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Oh and don't want a contractor that wouldn't let us work the system to learn it. That would be counter-productive.
We have 20 yrs experience, or I do she is going on 10. Also had our own authority but suspended it...to much work.
Thanks in advance for any help. Stay safe.

Oh and want to pull a flat or step. Also haven't seen alot about picking partials on here can we do alot of that at mercer. I really enjoy that type of trucking

I figured as much, but to me, that's not 90%. Those are required charges, whereas with us, anything Mercer deducts is elective.

Call recruiting & see if any of the fleet owners have a truck they need to fill. From what I understand most of them don't let the drivers pick their own loads. Not how I do it, but I understand why at the same time.
Jules will know which fleet owner will let you do what. Most of them want you on the road at least 3 weeks. Good luck.kevc55 and TaylorMade407 Thank this.
