when a company advertises on craigs list and facebook for recovery drivers that should tip you off i have talked to Eagle recrurting also and can firmly say its not the companies you can work for under the umbrella but its the leasing company quality when you start to need repairs or purchase a truck that has been lease to more then three drivers brings issues and Quality is the party that makes driver go broke by high turnover of the repair on average 3-5 days for just a pm and say tire change god forbid its a major repair guys have said 3 to 5 weeks i would say find a good lease company that only does lease that you own at the end not set up so you can just lease again if you want that go work for Prime or hirchbak i would recomend Bay and bay ,JCT or Landstar, mercer, somthing along those line even Martin has a good lease stay away from quality companies

Anytime that a driver would have a lengthy repair on their truck, they are given the opportunity to work local until repairs are completed. With any leasing company it is always buyer beware, better if you can get the truck on your own.

Don't believe rumors. Eagle is, and always has been, a wholly owned division of Celadon. They even included letters to that effect to drivers 4-5 months ago because some state (I want to say Oklahoma) was hassling drivers due to their lease saying Eagle, but some paperwork saying Celadon.

I see eagle dont even have there own website anymore...says eagle is now a celadon company and directs u to celadons website. They really blew a great concept...they shouldve listened to the drivers and worked out the kinks and grew themselves to be much more profitable in long term and a trusted company..instead it seems they were thinkin only bout money now now now no matter what the consequence. Perfect example of shooting yourself in the foot.

The bigger problem, in my mind, was not being clearer about Celadon owning Eagle from the start.

Yeah, they sent out those letters a while ago but that just lead to a bunch of phone calls from worried drivers who though Eagle was getting "bought out" by Celadon. Why they weren't clear that Eagle has always been owned by Celadon I'm not sure.

If you want a "bright side" take on this, I suppose that would be that nothing is/has changed on the Eagle side. What made Eagle "Eagle" were the people and the method of doing business. Those haven't changed. (Down to the Eagle shirts we all still wear on occasion). What's more, the old Celadon reefer groups now do business like we do (at least for their L/OS). Of course, if you hate Eagle, then I suppose that's bad news, but meh, you aren't reading this in that case.

Ive been looking at going to eagle for about a year and I just couldnt get past all that drivers were saying. The risk seemed to outweigh the reward for me. I live in ny and wouldve did all northeast but when I heard there is no toll releif in any way and agents dont play nice with eagle drivers when it comes to negotiating tolls or rates... I was extremely turned off. Wheres the profit when you have $2-300 in tolls just to enter the bouroughs or l island. How can a driver be expected to absord that cost? How does a city justify that expense when they need groceries and other necessities on there store shelves and expect it..yet they penalize you for providing the very convenience they want and need. Not to mention there is not a single truck stop or anywhere to park or any hospitality whatsoever for a truck driver in nyc. A big fat toll bill and a middle finger is all you get in NYC.
