Cancelled loads can be a deal breaker. Once a load was canceled, you could jump right on the board and find something equal or better. Now you might have to sit for a day.
redoctober83 and GoGetta07 Thank this. -
My last load headed for home cancelled...ended up deadheading 300 miles to Charlotte for home time. Couldn't be late as my wife was leaving on a cruise with her sister. I'm taking the week off.
Retirement is just a day closer. I don't know when it'll be, but it's a day closer.RootHog, exracer941 and freightwipper Thank this. -

But I will say this: I'll never be a company driver again. I love not being a OH/PA regional driver, though I did basically live on I-81 during the fall. Finally got the steering alignment straightened out and the truck has yet to have a mechanical breakdown in 122k miles. I'll make it to the end of my lease, but to be real honest...if I can walk away from trucking at that time, I'll do it in a New York minute. It's just not fun these days.FatDaddy and freightwipper Thank this. -
Yeah I could never be a company driver again either, freedom and control holds soo much value.
Don't be a strangerexracer941 and 48Packard Thank this. -
