Types of truckers passing me

Not only that, but when they see the large cars coming up at the high rate of fuel consumption, STAY YOUR SLOW DUMB ### IN YOUR LANE!!!!!!!! Don't decide to pass the other slow truck in front of you at that given time, wait about 5 more seconds and the fast trk will be long gone, and now your not making him lock up his breaks and #### near ramming your ### because you chose to be a stupid ### and pull out in front of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Didn't know you guys even had breaks. Always seeing you guys ramming up everyone's tail no matter the speed. What's the rush?multiple loads a day?

 

Here's my breakdown:
5% of truckers are going so fast that they zoom right past me and move over 300 feet down the road.

Not too many of them where I run.

70% of truckers are governed to 61 or 62, takes like three minutes to pass me (a lot of cars building up behind them). They want to get over in front of me so bad to please the car drivers, they leave only 30 to 45 feet between the rear of their trailer and the front of my tractor.

The vast majority of all trucks in California. I use them as little opportunities to speed with the other ungoverned trucks. Not a smart move, sure. I just figure that if there are 3 or 4 trucks going 70mph, and all traffic is stuck behind a set of these guys, why not?

10% pass me pretty well, but then as soon as they get about 40 feet ahead, they match my speed and put their turn signal on. It's like they lack the power to change lanes and go faster at the same time.

I used to be this guy, until someone yelled at me on the radio. They suck. Especially when they slow down, you pass them, they pass you again, and it just becomes annoying.


15% are the most nicest and professional truckers I have ever seen. They pass you by about 150 feet, put their turn signal on and wait for you to flash your high beams to give them permission to move over. It's amazing how many truckers are going to this maneuver

I can go as fast as want, within reason. These guys are great, I try to do this when I can.

Many Schneider drivers are not even aware of this annoying feature on their truck. Many Schneider trucks have "anticipatory" cruise control. It uses GPS and satellite control to modulate the speed slightly to terrain.

Before a Schneider truck reaches the top of even a modest hill, it slows the truck a few MPH in anticipation of the increased speed on the down side of the hill. It also speeds the truck up to 62-63 MPH before the base of a hill to get a little momentum going.

This constantly fluctuating speed can really annoy other drivers. It's not necessarily Schneider drivers deliberately being jerks. A driver who is paying attention, though, can over ride some of this with the throttle.

I was told this information by a Schneider mechanic.
