I saw another version of this story and I think 'speeding Camaro' lays out where the fault should lie. The reason the truck is blamed is because it's lucrative. If the speeding Camaro hit a bridge strut or careened into a tree, neither the bridge, or the tree would be at fault.

Pennsylvania enacted a state law not too long ago that limited the number of passengers under 18 in a car driven by someone under 18. Maybe they should up it to 21.

No LAW can fix stupid. Natural selection has to be allowed to take its course from time to time.

The ATA wants to reduce the age of a person able to drive a CMV in Interstate commerce from 21 to 18 years old. So since they can't get enough drivers to fill their empty trucks they want to allow 18 year olds to drive Tractor Trailers OTR. And this Organization claims it cares about the safety of Truck Drivers and the Motorists that share the road with trucks?

The ATA does indeed care about safety: the safety of their profit margins, that is. I guess that's what happens when your entire business model is based on getting away with paying craptastic wages.

Agree with that wholeheartedly... Here in Fort Worth, TX Im scratching my head on why these whiny people who expect their goods on time worry about truckers who live in the same neighborhoods as they do, kids go to the same schools as their kids, and yet have a problem where we park our trucks on the weekend... In the words of the officer that wrote out a parking ticket on my first weekend of parking this truck, he has no problem with us parking near our homes, its people complaining the trucks are too noisy and annoying.......
