I'm sorry, I just re read this, so $545 covers truck payment AND maintenance????..(PM's, repairs, tires, clutch, emissions, engine, driveline, etc, etc...) or just truck payment?....I ask because $147k for a 2013......well.....

I'm going to attempt to give some advice here...
Being you're on % and are an IC you shouldn't take whatever load they throw at you.
Request to only stay in specific good markets and if they try to make you go to a crap area it better pay a lot. Texas is one example.. you should NOT go in there for cheap because coming out of Texas you will eat dirt. $1.23 is maybe okay in leaving a hellhole like the Northeast but certainly not for taking a load into Texas.
Also it's generally better to run shorter loads on %. Big mile loads are good for company drivers, not so much on percentage.
Have some say in your operation, if you don't you'll just be hurting yourself.

ChromeNut, Dominick253 and Joe.go Thank this.

Give the guy a few weeks. Who knows? Maybe Celedon has higher negotiated rates for lanes that we aren't privy to.
The real test will be home time.
A full week off may be too deep a hole to recover from , but it's not us doing it. Some people have to get burnt before they believe that fire is hot

Lots of people make it on less.
Depends on the person, don't criticize someone till you've walked in their shoes.

I say Good Luck to you sir!

All the negativity from the gate may have dissuaded him from posting any more. Another thread to the forum graveyard
