I'm applying for the Greenville Tech summer CDL program and understand Superior recruits out of that school for its Greer, SC, terminal. I'd appreciate any info you would care to pass along. Thanks!

You have a good Averitt Service Center in Duncan in your back yard. Exit 63 I believe.

Your best bet is to call the Greer terminal manager and talk to him. They do accept students from that school but only the top of the class.

Probably so, I don't know a lot about them but I like what I do know about Superior.

I talked to a lady in Superior's main office and she answered some questions and referred me to him (Phil Henderson). It's the top 1/3 of the class they would consider--shouldn't be too hard to end up in that bracket, if I study and work for it. I know I'll need to just get my first year or two under my belt for the experience but I like what little I've been able to research about Superior so far. I'm interested in low/no drama. Just want to work, not play politics, etc.

    Go with Superior-Carriers!
If for some reason Superior doesn't hire you, several other good tanker outfits will. If necessary, you can get 12 mos. experience with some other tanker outfit, then go to Superior. Study hard & Superior might snag you right out of that school.

    Hoot67 Thanks this.

Phil is a good guy and Greer is a good terminal. They just built a new tankwash there and it houses the company hazmat training school where all new drivers spend a week.

I grew up in Greer but am in Columbia now. My Mom is still up there, though, so I'll stay with her while I'm going to Greenville Tech for the CDL, and then again if I land the Superior job.

I graduated from Greenville Tech and went to work in Greer for Superior. It really is a very good company and probably one of the best opportunities a driver can get fresh out of school. Greer is a good terminal also, lot of good guys there.

    Hoot67 and wsyrob Thank this.
