Best hours to drive for new driver?

When I was otr I drove nights. Granted all my load picked up at midnight in Northern KY and had to be in Chicago by 10am so I had no choice. I loved nights though. Harder to stay awake or pull over to pee etc but once I delivered had my choice of spots at the truck stop. When ever I had chance to drive nights I would. But like others said must be available 24/7

 

I've always been a morning person. I'll start as early as I can, get my miles in for the day, and get to someplace to camp (you can usually get a pretty good spot this way) for the night and start all over the next.

 

When you can make the most money. Mostly, avoid major metro traffic slowdowns at peak periods. It may be that trip plannning is more a more useful tool than a choice of hours of work. There's good and bad on all the schedules, really, and you get used to it whatever it is.

Like, way less traffic late night, but you can't see much. Like, deer, potholes, obstructions, reduced visibility has it's issues. Drive early, stop early, choice of parking, good visibility, fewer deer, more traffic. It's always something, so that won't be going away. Really, whatever you're comfortable with and can drive safely.
